ScoBo Tournament Central

The web-based score management features of Tournament Central are no longer in development and are provided as-is. You may still manage your tournament's statistics with a FREE web-based Tournament Central database, but the primary purpose of Tournament Central is now to provide SQBS users with a place to host their web reports for free.

Have you entered your tournament statistics into SQBS, but don't have a place to host them? With a Tournament Central database, you can upload all of your SQBS reports to one place, for free!

Web-Based Score Management

ScoBo Tournament Central is a full-featured Internet-based application that takes care of everything from bracket management to worker assignments, originally created as a web-based tournament logistics management program for the Missouri high school format. However, because SQBS is so well-established, I am no longer developing Tournament Central. (For the record, I had no idea SQBS even existed when I started work on this program). However, if you need a solution that does not involve keeping detailed player stats, Tournament Central is a possible solution for managing your tournament's logistics.

With ScoBo Tournament Central 2.0, you can:

  • Manage multiple tournaments
  • Run a Swiss-Paired, Round Robin, and/or single elimination tournament with ease. Set up the Swiss-paired room structure or an 8, 12, or 16 team single-elimination bracket and all you'll have to do is enter scores - the application handles team advancement. The bracket can also include a 3rd place consolation game.
  • Submit scores directly from the game room! The score entry system is designed for submission directly from the game room using a unique game authorization code, or the tournament coordinator can submit scores from tournament headquarters using the same entry page without risk of inadvertently changing an important setting.
  • Set up backup schedules prior to your tournament so you are prepared for the possibility that a team or two may not show up on tournament day. Nothing is more frustrating than to have to quickly revamp the schedule for a different number of teams minutes before the first round.
  • Automate as much or as little as you want. You can have the application automatically advance teams to their respective rooms or do it all yourself.
  • Track basic player stats for an unlimited number of players and/or team bonus conversion.
    • Important note: Unlike SQBS, which has become the gold standard for recording quiz bowl statistics, this application is only capable of keeping basic player stats (it does NOT keep track of powers, negs, etc.)
  • View results online INSTANTLY! You don't have to wait until the end of the day to post tournament results; since the tournament is managed online in the first place, you don't have to worry about compiling a tournament summary!
  • Allows you to manage a tournament using any computer with an Internet connection - perfect for Macintosh or other operating systems that do not support SQBS (see below).
  • Manage buzzer and worker assignments

A demonstration database is now available!

  • Feedback and bug reports are greatly appreciated. Contact me if you find any errors or have any suggestions.

SQBS

If you only need an application to manage scores and not the structure of the bracket, Stanford's SQBS Statistics Program for Windows is a full-featured FREEWARE application designed for college formats. It is also recommended if you need to keep track of powers, negs, or similar point-based player statistics, as Tournament Central does not keep track of these. Visit the SQBS website for more information.

If you use SQBS, you can now use Tournament Central to host your SQBS web reports!
